We can only provide cover to travellers who are resident within the UK or Channel Islands and are purchasing cover before leaving the UK or Channel Islands. 

If you do not meet these criteria, whilst many UK insurers will have similar requirements, we believe that World Nomads and Globelink may be able to provide appropriate cover although we would suggest contacting them to confirm suitability.

Your Trip Details

Anticipated date you will be departing from the UK*
For your policy to be valid, cover needs to start from the day you leave the UK. Cancellation cover is automatically included, at no additional cost, from the date you purchase your policy up to the date your trip and policy start. Please see our policy wordings for more information about Cancellation cover (Section A of the policy wording).
Will you be returning back to the UK at the end of your policy?*
For a single-trip policy, this needs to be taken out for a set duration, and you should be planning to return back to the UK by the policy end date.
Date you will arrive back in the UK at the end of your trip*
For your policy to be valid, you need to cover the full duration of the trip, up to and including the day you arrive back in the UK. Our underwriters state that in the event of a claim you may be asked for proof of your intention to return to the UK within the term of the policy.

Which (if any) of these 'proof of intention to return' indications will you have in place when you travel?*

Whilst we don't require you to have a return flight ticket booked, our underwriters state that in the event of a claim you may be asked for proof of your intention to return to the UK within the term of the policy.

If, in the event of a claim, you will not be able to provide anything from the above list as proof of your intention to return to the UK, we will not be able to provide you with a policy. Would you like a quote for an Annual MultiTrip policy?
This type of policy is suitable for multiple trips within a 12 month period. As standard, we can cover trips of up to 31 days each. For an additional premium, this can be extended to 45 days per trip.

If you aren't intending to return to the UK by the end date of your policy then we are only able to offer cover under our 'One Way Emigration' policies. Please continue below for a quote.

Area of cover required*
We need this information to be able to provide you with an accurate quote for the country/countries you will be visiting. When selecting your area of cover, please note that your policy will cover you for a stopover of no more than 48 hours outside your chosen geographical area.
Will you be doing any form of paid or voluntary work during your trip?
Most travel insurance policies will not cover you for working while away from the UK (paid or voluntary). We need this information to make sure that we can offer you appropriate cover for any work you will be undertaking. Our Working Holiday policy covers a range of employment from teaching to construction or veterinary work.
We need this information to make sure that you have the appropriate level of cover to reflect the risk involved in the type of work that you will be undertaking.

Will you be doing any sports or adventurous activities whilst away from the UK?
Cover for all activities listed under Activity Pack 1 level is applied as standard. However more adventurous or riskier activities may require additional activity packs to be applied to your policy. Typical example are doing the Inca trail, Trekking walking above 1,500 meters above sea level and winter sports.
We need this information to make sure that you have the appropriate level of cover to reflect the risk involved in any activities that you will be undertaking. All activities are covered on a non-professional and non-competitive basis, unless otherwise stated.

Will you be going on a cruise as part of your trip?*
A cruise is defined as a pleasure voyage of more than 72 hours duration, sailing as a passenger on a purpose built ship on sea/s or oceans that may include stops at various ports.
Our standard quotes provides some cover for electrical and photographic items but this varies from policy to policy and does not include cover for mobile phones. We can provide a gadget extension for mobile phones or items worth more than the maximum amount covered by the standard quote. Gadget extensions can be for up to £500, £1,000 or £2,000 and need to cover the full value of a replacement item. Please let us know if you would like a quote to include gadget cover.*
